ABOUT ME

Hi there! This is me, María, a web designer and digital marketing expert with a strong foundation in art history. With a degree in art history, and two master’s degrees – one in web design and digital marketing and the other in contemporary art history –I’ve been a long time immersing myself in the stories behind the masterpieces. Now, I apply that same passion for detail and narrative to creating websites that not only look good, but are functional.
From curating exhibitions to launching an art magazine, I’ve explored how images, spaces, and words can connect people. Now, I’m taking that skill to the web, combining aesthetics and functionality to create engaging digital experiences.
During my master’s studies, I gained practical experience with key web design tools like WordPress, WooCommerce, and Elementor, alongside a solid theoretical understanding. I also honed my digital marketing skills, conducting comprehensive analyses to understand businesses’ needs and applying strategies like SEO, SEM, and social media management to boost their online presence and success.
If you’d like to work with me on a project that is visually stunning and tells a story, I’d love to hear from you! Because, after all, web design is art in the digital age, isn’t it? If all this resonates with you and you’d like to know more about my background you can download my cv down below.
where art and research meets design

I’ve been passionate about photography since I was 14, capturing the beauty of nature, the moments I share with my loved ones, and creating candid, everyday photographs as a form of self-expression. I love experimenting with my DSLR and analog cameras, playing with light and editing to create unique and personal images.

Starting a magazine about contemporary art with my classmates was a truly rewarding experience, I had the chance to combine my passion for research with my love for creativity. I conducted interviews with artists, wrote articles, and played a key role in the magazine’s design.

Creating personalized gifts is a hobby close to my heart. From designing a custom Monopoly game from scratch to binding books with song lyrics and making unique sticker albums, I enjoy crafting one-of-a-kind presents that add a personal touch to any occasion.

Originally from Spain, I moved to Australia in October 2023 in search of adventure and opportunities and I fell in love with the aussie lifestyle. From its stunning landscapes to the richness of aboriginal culture and history, there’s always something here that sparks my creativity.

As a cultural mediator and curator, I learned the importance of not just sharing ideas but understanding how they’re received. I interacted with the audience, encouraging their participation and feedback. This approach influences my web design, where I focus on creating user-centered designs that engage and resonate with people.

questions?
01 What’s my designing process?
My design process begins with analyzing the project proposal and brainstorming ideas for the website’s structure and content. I sketch wireframes by hand using my graphic tablet in Illustrator, then move on to detailed design work in Figma. Once the design is set, I implement it in WordPress, focusing on setup adjustments, responsive design, security features, and interactive effects. I’m always ensuring every detail is fine-tuned for a polished final product.
02 Which programs do I use?
I’m proficient in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign for design work, and I have a basic understanding of Premiere Pro and Photoshop. For web design, I use WordPress and Elementor for building sites, with basic knowledge of CSS and HTML (which I would love to increase). I also use WooCommerce for e-commerce projects and Figma for initial design concepts.

05 How do I conduct an initial analysis of a company for a digital marketing strategy?
I start with a thorough analysis using frameworks like PESTEL and SWOT to understand the company’s internal and external context. This includes defining the target audience and creating buyer personas to guide the strategy. I also closely review the company’s current state across social media, website, and communications, as well as analyze competitors’ offerings, digital presence, and any features that could inspire valuable improvements.
06 What is my approach to designing a digital marketing strategy?
To develop the strategy, I start with well-defined SMART objectives tailored to the company’s current situation. From there, I select the most effective tactics, such as SEO, SEM, and key social media platforms for the brand. I design campaigns aimed at specific goals and a targeted audience, supported by a measurement plan with clear KPIs and analytics tools to thoroughly assess the outcomes of each action.
